BLG520E - Cryptography

  • The course covers cryptographic concepts ranging from the earliest examples of encryption in history to modern cryptographic methods.

  • Students who successfully complete the course are expected to acquire knowledge and skills in the following areas:

    • Understanding why and how classical cryptographic systems were developed.
    • Applying probability theory and analyzing product ciphers.
    • Understanding substitution–permutation networks and applying linear and differential cryptanalysis to them.
    • Implementing the DES and AES algorithms.
    • Implementing the RSA cryptosystem.
